How to block heat from windows
Solar gain through windows can be one of the biggest afternoon cooling loads in many homes.
Priority order
- Close blinds and shades before direct sun hits.
- Add thermal or blackout curtains to high-sun rooms.
- Use reflective film on high-exposure windows.
- Seal frame leaks where hot air is entering.
